"Leeloo" gets her name from the lead female role “Leeloominai ” from one of our favorite sci-fi movies; ‘The Fifth Element’ (Leeloo meaning ‘Precious Stones ’) With her red and white coat & the slightly alien nature of the Basenji plus the fact that Leeloo brings us an 'element' of Avongara / American blood we thought the name fitting for our little girl. Leeloo is a very gentle, yodelling little butt and tail wagger and she has a really cute & funny greeting style & coaxes us to play with her by dancing on her back feet and stretching her front legs straight up in the air with her tail madly wagging. She has wriggled her way right into the heart of our pack & they all love her to bits; even old Zurii who thinks puppies are annoying little pests, adores being cuddled by Leeloo. She is always ready to play, cuddle and kiss and is our little ray of sunshine. She delights in giving "high tens" up on her tippy toes to her friends in and around the showring.

Leeloo came out of semi-retirement on the 6th November 2011 to win BEST IN SHOW at the BCOV Specialty Open Show under Mrs S.Langford.
