Mali,our beautiful foundation bitch is our pride and joy. Thankyou to Denise Doyle of Helios Basenjis for allowing Mali to come & join our family. She has taught us so much about the breed and has given us a great foundation on which to build our line with her many fine breed points. Mali is an absolute pleasure to have around the house & she is completely trustworthy with everything and everyone. She has never read the books that say Basenjis are an aloof breed. She absolutely adores & loves people and all visitors welcoming them with her spinning helicopter tail and makes herself at home on their laps as soon as they sit down. She is also a confirmed puppy lover! She takes over puppy feeding and cleaning duties at every opportunity, even when they're not her puppies. When her daughter Coco developed eclampsia & was unable to nurse her own puppies Mali produced milk for them after only 4 days; nursing them & raising them as if they were her own at over 10 years of age. She thought it was just wonderful to have more babies to care for.

At the Royal Melbourne Show 2002 Mali was the Basenji used for the Wonderful World Of Pets interactive display where she met alot of children who were patting, poking and prodding her. She was fantastic! All the noise, people children and other dogs in close proximity didn't faze her at all. In fact her tail didn't stop wagging the whole time! She is a marvellous ambassador for the breed.

Mali has also been a wonderful producer for us. She has passed on her beautiful short, fine coat, good feet, beautiful head, effortless gait, substance, soundness, style & carriage to her offspring. She has 6.5 Champion offspring from her 3 litters. From her 3rd & final litter; 4 of the pups are BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP WINNERS & 1 of them is a Multi All Breeds BEST IN SHOW winner / Multi BEST IN SPECIALTY SHOW winner, was the top Basenji in Victoria for 6 years & held the record for the youngest Grand Champion Basenji in Australian History at the time.

Mali is the dam of: Sunny, Tuuli, Jinja, Arrow, Coco, Jorji among others

Mali has a beautiful head with lovely dark almond shaped eyes and excellent earset with small slightly hooded ears,dark pigmentation, short, fine and silky coat, excellent compact feet , lovely substance & soundness with an effortless gait carrying her head proudly on a beautifully arched neck.

- Mali developed an inoperable bladder tumour which was diagnosed a few months before she passed away. Her memory will live on in her beautiful offspring and in our hearts forever xoxoxo
