We Health test our dogs because we care about the future of the Basenji and want to do as much as we possibly can to ensure excellent health amongst the dogs that we breed. We also expect that any bitches that are bred to our males have at the very least had the following health checks carried out:
- Fanconi DNA Linkage Marker Test
- Thyroid Screening TSH, FT4, TT4 & Tgaa
- Eyes - Screening for PPM, Coloboma & PRA
Any personal information we are given remains confidential and we do not pass on the information to others.
We test most of our breeding dogs hips but this is mainly done for our own information as part of our breeding program. Hip Dysplasia does not appear to be much of a problem in the breed in Australia.
