In 2011 in a "Judges Choice" article published in the UK Kennel Club Gazette, a number of Judges were asked to name their greatest 3 Basenjis of all time from the past, present or anwhere in the world and we were delighted & very proud that our Sunny was chosen by both Dr. Ronald James and Mr. Ben Reynolds Frost, both Basenji specialists.

"In 2008 I was chosen to judge the Basenji Club Of Victoria in Australia. At this show I found the greatest Basenji I had ever judged to date in the form of "Aust Gr Ch Afrikenji Hot Sumaknight". He was just mind blowing, a chestnut/white dog, I was unable to fault. He fitted the standard to perfection. Needless to say he has won everything in his path and has recently been retired."

"A male that made a great impression on me was "Aust Grand Ch Afrikenji Hot Sumaknight", whom I made Best In Show at the Basenji Club of NSW Championship Show in 2005. Sunny is a sound moderate Basenji possessing substance along with elegance with fine clean bone, good feet, a handsome head on a crested neck & small slightly hooded ears, displaying fine and profuse diamond wrinkle. He measures 17 inches square. He has a sound front a level topline, standing and moving, short back, a double curled tail with shelf and moderate hindquarters resulting in balanced sound movement from all angles, trimmed with a pliant skin & an ultra short, fine dark coat. He is Fanconi clear/PPM clear and a proven stud with Specialty and All Breeds winners here and overseas.
Our thanks to the many judges who have awarded Sunny so highly and have praised his quality, breed type, movement & soundness.
Sunny has been a super consistent winner & has been very hard to beat ever since he set foot in the ring under local, national & international All Breeds judges but more importantly under Hound & Basenji Specialists as well!

Sunny is a real little lap dog & would love nothing better than to just cuddle and be cuddled every day. He is the cuddliest Basenji we have ever known - he quickly finds his way onto anyones laps (including our guests) as soon as they sit down and snuggles right in. He loves visitors and he is a loving, affectionate & gentle little boy who loves yodeling loud and clear. He is a wonderfully easy going dog to live with and extremely well behaved in the home.
Our 3 boys Zurii, Sunny & Oki were the best of mates.
Oki & Sunny absolutely adore each other and seek each other out constantly for ear cleaning sessions & cuddling on the lounge suite together. Sunny also loves puppies just like his dam Mali and is really gentle with them all.
At the Melbourne “Pet Expo” Sunny was a terrific ambassador for the breed with the multitudes of people passing through for a pat. He just soaked up all the attention which included cuddles & kisses from people of all ages and sizes; including toddlers & disabled children.
